How to prepare a better cone crusher wear parts RFQ
A complete RFQ helps buyers confirm replacement liners, bushings, lock nuts and related crusher spare parts faster, with fewer wrong-part risks and clearer lead-time expectations.
Why a basic RFQ often causes delays
When a cone crusher is down, procurement teams usually need a fast quotation, the correct replacement part and no installation surprises. Many RFQs still arrive with only a machine model and a part name. That is a useful start, but it is rarely enough to confirm chamber profile, material, machining details or shipping urgency.
Public technical guidance from Sandvik and Metso shows that wear behavior depends on feed arrangement, feed size, abrasiveness, crusher settings and operating targets. For manganese liners, alloy choice also depends on the duty and how the liner work-hardens in service.
Seven details to include
- Exact crusher model and reference numbers: include the machine model, part number, casting number, drawing number or old purchase reference if available.
- Standard part name and position: identify whether the request is for a mantle, bowl liner, concave, eccentric bushing, socket liner, frame bushing, main shaft sleeve, lock nut, feed cone or counterweight casting.
- Feed material and abrasiveness: state whether the site processes granite, basalt, iron ore, limestone, river stone, recycled concrete or another material.
- Feed size and operating setting: add top feed size, typical gradation, CSS or target output size where known.
- Current wear pattern or failure mode: mention uneven wear, scoring, cracking, short liner life, poor profile retention or reduced throughput.
- Material request or performance target: specify Mn13, Mn18, Mn22 or the real goal, such as longer wear life, stable product shape, faster shipment or balanced cost.
- Quantity, destination and delivery window: include pieces required, destination country, port, preferred freight method and whether the order is urgent.

FAQ
What is the minimum information needed for a cone crusher liner RFQ?
At minimum, provide the crusher model, part name, any part or casting number and clear photos of the old part. Feed material and operating setting make the quote more accurate.
Why does feed condition matter when buying replacement liners?
Feed arrangement and gradation affect chamber utilization, wear distribution and liner life. The same nominal part may perform differently under different site conditions.
Should buyers always specify Mn18 or Mn22?
No. Manganese grade should match material, impact, wear pattern and commercial target. A higher manganese grade is not automatically the best result in every application.
