Vibrating grizzly feeder bars and pan liners: RFQ checklist

Primary crushing stations depend on feeder wear parts as much as crusher wear parts. Grizzly bars, pan liners and side liners should be quoted with dimensions, holes, photos and working conditions.

Why feeder wear parts matter

A vibrating grizzly feeder usually sits ahead of a primary jaw, impact or gyratory crusher. It meters heavy feed and can scalp fines before they enter the crusher.

If grizzly bars, pan liners or side liners are worn, the plant may see poor fines removal, loose bolts, material leakage, structure wear or unscheduled welding during a shutdown.

Parts to define in the RFQ

  • Grizzly bars, grizzly fingers or scalper bars
  • Pan liners, feeder deck liners and loading-zone wear plates
  • Side liners, cheek liners and impact liners
  • Bolt-on wear plates, clamps, spacers and mounting bolts
  • Rubber, polyurethane, steel or composite wear protection if used on the site

RFQ information buyers should send

  • Feeder brand, model, width, length and serial plate photo if available
  • Installation position: before jaw crusher, impact crusher, primary station or mobile plant
  • Part name and location: inlet, pan section, grizzly section or discharge end
  • Length, width, thickness, height, angle and bar profile or cross-section
  • Hole spacing, hole diameter, countersink, bolt size and mounting direction
  • Bar gap or target scalping size
  • Photos of the front, back, side, holes, broken areas and worn contact faces
  • Rock type, maximum feed size, mud or moisture condition, current service life and failure mode
  • Material request, quantity, destination port, packing requirement and required delivery date

Material and inspection points

Grizzly bars often need impact resistance and abrasion resistance at the same time. Manganese steel can work where impact is strong enough to harden the surface. Wear plate or alloy steel may suit pan liners and side liners where sliding abrasion is more consistent.

For first orders, confirm the bar profile, hole layout, liner thickness, edge shape and whether the set includes clamps, bolts or spacers. Long bars and heavy plates should be packed with end protection, rust prevention and clear lifting marks.

This article is an RFQ guide, not a maintenance procedure. Feeder repair can involve stored energy, suspended loads, vibration mechanisms, trapped material and upstream hopper hazards. Follow the site lockout procedure before inspection or removal.

Can grizzly bars be quoted from photos only?

Photos can start the review, but dimensions, hole spacing, bar profile and feeder model are needed before production.

Should pan liners and side liners be quoted together?

Usually yes for inspection. If the pan liner is worn thin, side liners, bolt holes and loading-zone plates may be close to replacement too.

Which material should be used?

It depends on impact, abrasion, feed size, moisture and current failure mode. Send used-part photos and service life data so the supplier can recommend a practical option.
